In the educational process, students’ well-being is a cornerstone of their development, not only cognitively but also emotionally. Carmen Zeic places a strong emphasis on fostering students’ well-being. Every moment at school becomes an opportunity for children to learn, not just about mathematics or the Romanian language, but also about themselves, moral values, and how to manage their own emotions.

An Educational Journey Through Reading

It all began on the very first day of school when Carmen Zeic chose to read her students an insightful story: ”The Children of the King” by Max Lucado. With each page, the children learned to trust themselves and recognize their own worth. “When a king tells you that you are valuable, you should never doubt it” – this profound message was the first step in a journey of discovering emotions and building authentic relationships. Throughout the year, Ms. Zeic shared lessons from books such as ”The Hug” by Eoin McLaughlin, which highlights the importance of emotional support; ”Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” by Carol McCloud, promoting kindness and generosity; and ”Oh, How Lovely Panama Is” by Janosch, which encourages curiosity.

These readings were not just a source of enjoyment but also the starting point for deeper discussions where children learned about kindness, respect, generosity, and, most importantly, how to appreciate and express their emotions. Every story became a life lesson on what it means to be a good, empathetic, and open-hearted person.

Activities That Strengthen Bonds and Values

However, learning does not stop with books. Ms. Zeic understands that true education comes from applying what is learned. That is why themed educational activities have become an integral part of the learning process in the Class of Treasures. For example, during the Thankfulness Celebration, students had the chance to express gratitude to those around them and Kindness Day was a moment to explore what it means to be altruistic and how small acts of kindness can make a difference.

During the Days Against Violence, Ms. Zeic organized activities that taught students about respect and nonviolent communication. During the holiday season, “The Christmas Alphabet” was a creative way to introduce meaningful words such as love, light, peace, and kindness. These activities were not only fun but also educational, encouraging critical thinking and collaboration among students.

Parental Involvement – The Key to Success

Beyond Carmen Zeic’s tireless dedication, another crucial element in fostering well-being in the Class of Treasures is parental involvement. Every activity is supported by the active participation of parents, who come not only to be close to their children, but also contribute ideas, provide feedback, and offer continuous support.
